New York Fashion Week SS15 day four was pretty much a show stopper. Designers such as Victoria Beckham; DKNY; and Public School hit the runway – as well as Zoë Jordan’s NYFW début (she was a regular at LFW). We’re more suede, more patch pockets, and more retro floral prints. Take a peek at some of our favourite pieces of the day, what we loved about them and what we didn’t love so much.
Zoë Jordan
LOVED: The cracked leather; swashes of greyscale paint strokes; polished city shorts.
NOT SO MUCH: Here “logo-mania” pieces screamed Ikea bed spread.
Victoria Beckham
LOVED: The laced-up white sweater; monochrome maxi length dresses;
NOT SO MUCH: Forgot it was a Spring/Summer collection for a moment (no problem there) then BAM right at the end of the collection a lethal injection of pink florals!
Public School
LOVED: Absolutely every little piece of it apart from…
NOT SO MUCH: The blue prints
DKNY
LOVED: Why did DKNY just take us all the way back to school though; to a time when forehead finger waves were a necessity to absolutely every single hairstyle?! As you may have seen, we’re not ones for much colour and print, but this collection took it – could it be the nostalgia clouding our clean, minimalistic fashion judgement?
NOT SO MUCH: *crickets*
Thakoon
LOVED: Tropical prints; looser silhouette; longer lengths; silk robe like trench.
NOT SO MUCH: Raffia tassels
Yigal Azrouël
LOVED: Leaf printed jammies; khaki green bomber with diamond cutouts; blush pink/black/palm tree print combo
NOT SO MUCH:
Tracy Reese
LOVED: The styling of the first half of the show! So unexpected, so right!
