Gucci celebrated it’s 90th anniversary with the opening of the Gucci Museo, a living space encapsulating the House’s “Forever Now” philosophy. A permanent exhibition from its rich and culturally significant archive, which has been preserved and amplified throughout the years, is juxtaposed with contemporary art installations supported by the Pinault Foundation. An Icon store, Bookshop, Caffè and Gift shop complement the exhibition spaces to create a destination location for international visitors and Florentines alike.
Situated in the heart of Florence (Gucci’s birthplace), in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia building located in Piazza della Signoria. Creative Director Frida Giannini and CEO and President Patrizio di Marco invited friends of the Fashion House for an exclusive visit to the three-story museum followed by a private dinner for 250 guests in the Salone dei 500 at the adjacent Palazzo Vecchio. The evening culminated with an exclusive performance by Blondie, who interrupted their current USA tour to join the celebrations.
The GUCCI MUSEO will remain permanently open throughout the year. Admission is 6 Euros with 50% of each ticket sale benefitting a fund to help the City of Florence preserve and restore the city’s signature art treasures.
