PETER PILOTTO SS15

Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos graduated from print to craft for their SS15 collection, and we’re not quite sure how we feel about it.  One of the things this brand is famous for it it’s eye catching “love at first sight” prints; the Peter Pilotto SS15 collection features cyber florals with coils and fans of guipure lace, technical macrame, and custom dandelion jacquards with sparkling tinsel.

There was a lot of embellishment and appliqué on the runway; iridescent organza, silk leaves and windowpane checks floated over the skin, whilst grids of florals blossom on black denim.  The silhouette moved between a trim bodice, to ultra slim trousers to planed shifts, some with airy volumes explored as a handkerchief hem and the neat folds of an A-line skirt.

Some of the pieces we adored, such as the tiered jackets both long sleeved and sleeveless; the tattoo like pencil skirt with asymmetric spilt; an the sandals, give us ALL of the sandals! Whilst other pieces, not so much…maybe it’s a grower.

What are your thoughts on the collection?

FASHION: DESIGNER CHRISTMAS JUMPERS

DESIGNER CHRISTMAS JUMPERS

This year the Christmas Jumper has gone luxe with the help of a few British designers. Friday 13th December is Christmas Jumper Day, wear a chrimbo jumper and donate £1 or more to help save childrens lives with Save the Children.

With the support of the British Fashion Council, some of the world’s leading British designers including Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, Anya Hindmarch, David Koma, Paul Smith, Giles Deacon, House of Holland, Jonathan Saunders, Matthew Williamson, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and Sibling have each customised a unique one off  jumper for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

The 14 Christmas jumpers have been designed and hand-knitted by fashion brand Wool and the Gang and their British Gang of knitters here in the UK before being customised by each designer.  The jumpers will go on display exclusively at The Village, Westfield London in a stunning installation designed by the visual artist and curator Stuart Semple.

You can own these couture wooly creations by entering the text auction, but take note because this auction has a twist – it’s the lowest unique bid that wins the prize, not the highest!

Go to Christmas Jumpers Day for all the details.
