BLACKOUT BLACK FRIDAY

BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday, one of the shopaholic’s favourite time of year; I love a good shopping session, some might say I’m a shopaholic, and I might agree with them depending on who’s saying it.  Even better when there’s a major discount involved!  Black Friday is the prelude to the January sales, some of the shops are even running discounts for 5 days!!

I was going to do a Black Friday guide for you all this week, listing the best discounts and offers available.  With that said, I feel I have to join the boycott of Black Friday and make a stand; why the boycott? A grand jury failed to indict the white police officer who shot and killed black 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri  in August.

America’s 43 million black citizens will hold about $1.1 trillion in purchasing power by 2015, a Nielsen study said.  God knows what the rest of us around the world add to that.  This boycott is not limited to black people only, if you feel like the decision made by the grand jury was wrong – make a stand too! Use the hashtags on social media #blackoutblackfriday #notonedime

This is more important than a discount – black lives are being taken and justice is not being served!

IT’S THAT TIME!

CYRENA-MONIQUE-PUNK-NEW-BALANCE-1

It’s that time of year to draw out the furs and the good grip shoes!  Ice was on the ground this morning, I had to take out my black fur jacket and pop the collar for that added neck shield.  The sneaks are New Balance, from the Music Pack, part of their made in England collection – these were influenced by punk, hence the tartan lining.  Stay warm & stay safe people!
