CHRISTOPHER KANE RESORT 2013

Christopher Kane Resort 2013 is giving me “Garden Party Chic” full of pastels, oversize paint stroke and rose prints, and lace with hints of leather; a multitude of skirts and dresses in every length possible, mid-thigh, above the knee, below the knee, midi, and maxi! Knife pleats were a large feature in dresses, shirts, and skirts always teamed with a flat asymmetric jacket, asymmetric tailored vest, and bodice. The heels looked great but the flats not so much, it looked as though they were ready to climb Dunn’s River Falls!

Stand out pieces were the leather dress and jacket for sure, the entire look with the printed lace J Brand jeans (sans shoes of course), along with the oversize shirt with pleat detail and the brush stroke pleated maxi.

GIVENCHY RAVE AD CAMPAIGN AW12/13

Welcome to the Givenchy Rave! Riccardo Tisci asked models Stella Tennant, Stef van der Laan, Daniela Braga, Simone Nobili, Jarrod Scott, and Rodrigo Braga to bring their best dance moves for his latest ad campaign; shot by high fashion ad campaign faves Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by fashionista fave Carine Roitfeld!

“It is about happiness and the freedom of expressing yourself with your body. It shows a dynamic, happy and fun world, which is what fashion needs,” the designer told WWD about the fractured images. “Stella represents modernity, elegance, masculinity and femininity at the same time, together with a dynamic, energetic beauty.”

The spots are slated to break in September issues of various international editions of Vogue, as well as Harper’s Bazaar and W.

LANVIN GOES MOBILE!

French high fashion brand Lanvin has officially gone mobile! This week the oldest fashion house unveiled its corporate website for digital tablets and mobile telephones. This comes after the success of the LANVIN commercial videos that went viral on the Internet and social networks.

The new touch screen version of the website enriches the emotional experience which first comes through the image, whilst respecting the dynamic and the rich creativity of the current platform. By showcasing its video and photo content, LANVIN continues to develop its mobile presence which represents an increasingly growing number of visits to its official websites. The fashion house wanted to make this new communication tool as intuitive, personal and fun as possible for visitors by playing on the many interactive functions offered by touch screen technology. Fashion show, backstage, PR and events are now divided into four categories: Women, Men, LANVIN Today and News, and of course the e-commerce shop front.  This new experience to be shared is a resolutely modern statement marked by the recent launch of the websites in Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
