New York Fashion Week SS15 day two saw the likes of Marissa Webb; Peter Som; Jason Wu; Tanya Taylor; Wes Gordon; Rebecca Minkoff; Adam Selman; and Nonoo take the runway. With it being the second day, we’re starting to see some trends forming – such as khaki green, obi belts, shirt dresses, and of course the minimal trend is alive and kicking.¬† Take a peek at some of our favourite pieces¬†of the day, what we loved about them and what we didn‚Äôt love so much.

Marissa Webb: Effortless everyday collection with a mix of structured and flowy pieces

LOVED: Monochrome layering; shirt dresses; denim trenches; khaki green jackets

NOT SO MUCH: The styling could have been a little better

Peter Som: Polished collection with bold yet dark floral prints, rugby stripes, and embellished mesh.

LOVED: crisp white shirts in various cuts; bold striped jersey maxi dress; triple co-ord (jacket, crop top, skirt); orange silk strapless gown; golf shoe inspired sandals.

NOT SO MUCH: The green rose/cabbage print;

Jason Wu

LOVED: Abstract prints; khaki green suede pieces; loose trenches; lace separates; the sequin pieces!

Tanya Taylor: A lady-like collection with a youthful edge, using cut-out shoulders, injections of bold colour, and print.

LOVED: All white looks in like a burn out houndstooth fabric; great mix of textures (quilted tee with sheer patterned skirt, teamed with patent orange belt); printed windbreaker with matching skirt.

NOT SO MUCH: monochrome print shirtdress with cut outs and splits – overloaded garment

Wes Gordon: “Clean and lean, with just the right amount of polish”

LOVED: Minimal pieces; easy to throw on yet polished; neutral colour palette; crystal chain mail like dress

NOT SO MUCH: lace trimmed pieces

Rebecca Minkoff: Country girl meets NYC

LOVED: Muted pastels; three textures in one pair of trousers; cotton dresses; farm girl dungarees; 3D prints; fringed and tassled bags.

NOT SO MUCH: Serious hat hair!

Adam Selman:¬†Designer of Rihanna’s Swarovski crystal CFDA gown; Youthful summer classics with a “hint” of pearls

LOVED: Well…the pearl embellishments; the wide leg trousers; the denim shirt and shorts combo; the monochrome maxi dresses (ugh!!!)

NOT SO MUCH: The colour swipe pieces, along with most of the swimwear

Sally LaPointe

LOVED: Minimal techno jersey pieces that photograph like neoprene/leather; statement belts; ostrich feather sleeveless jackets

NOT SO MUCH: The watercolour chiffon pieces

Nonoo: Monochromatic looks with a mix of extreme hemlines.

LOVED: The deep V neck lines; long sashes around the waist added more volume to the wide leg trouser; leather mini dresses; gossamer knit sweater; metallic mix.
