KRISTEN STEWART TO BE FACE OF NEW BALENCIAGA FRAGRANCE

The fashionably and socially awkward Kristen Stewart is set to be the face of the new Balenciaga fragrance for women. The actress follows Charlotte Gainsbourg who has represented Balenciaga Paris, the first fragrance, since 2010.  Creative Director of Balenciaga, Nicolas Ghesquière says ”Kristen Stewart embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence. From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.

Personally I don’t see it, I’m looking forward to seeing the campaign shots and I sincerely hope she surprises me. What do you think???

NEW FRAGRANCE – L’EAU DE CHLOE

High fashion label Chloe have released a teaser trailer for a new version of their signature fragrance L’eau de Chloé. The new addition contains rose, citrus notes, and patchouli, which lends it a rare refreshing feeling. The bottle shadows the now familiar silhoutte, revealed through sheer, clear glass. The iconic ribbon, now with a soft green hue, echoes the spring freshness of the fragrance. French actress and model Camille Rowe-Pourcheresse is the face of L’eau de Chloé, who has already worked with the world’s top fashion photographers, and was recently seen in the movie “Our Day Will Come”, directed by Romain Gavras, and starring Vincent Cassel.

The advertising campaign filmed by Mario Sorrenti with visuals by Camilla Akrans is free-spirited and captures a delicate femininity. Shot in a country landscape, an escape to nature with a joyous spontaneity. Prices range from £36.50 for a 30ml EDT to £61 for 100ml; body lotion and shower gel are also available nationwide from 7th March 2012

 

VIKTOR & ROLF SPICEBOMB

A new year, a new fragrance!!! Design duo Viktor & Rolf have developed a new men’s scent Spicebomb which is to be pre-launched in iconic London department store Harrods on January 23rd.

‘It all began with the name, Spicebomb. Viktor & Rolf immediately told me that they were looking for a striking fragrance with a wealth of spices, a real source of addiction.’ Olivier Polge, perfumer behind the scent. The scent includes chilli and saffron, leather, tobacco and vetiver, as well as bergamot, grapefruit and pink pepper. Available in 90ml and 50ml at £60 and £45 respectively, the range also features deodorant spray (150ml for £18), aftershave balm (100ml for £30) and shower gel (200ml for £25). Spicebomb rolls out nationally on March 7. The campaign shot by Inez & Vinoodh and features male model power house Sean O’Pry.

TRUTH OR DARE BY MADONNA – A NEW FRAGRANCE

If you’re an avid reader of Freak Deluxe you’ll know we love a fragrance launch, and this is no exception. Global icon Madonna is set to launch her first fragrance Truth or Dare by Madonna with Coty Prestige. The fragrance will debut exclusively at Macy’s in April 2012 in the United States, with global distribution beginning in May.

Madonna stated to Women’s Wear Daily, “I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well.  Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare.”

Truth or Dare by Madonna will be a signature floral fragrance.  Its unique blend of narcotic florals, balanced with addictive woods and vanilla, creates a scent that is timeless, yet contemporary, simultaneously dark and light.  The bottle plays up the Truth or Dare duality – a classic and sophisticated shape, with modern and edgy detailing.

The scent will be available in a 75ml EDP ($68 / €62), 50ml EDP ($55 / €46), 30ml EDP ($39 / €35), Body Lotion ($28 / €22), and Shower Gel ($24 / €21).
