MULBERRY WELCOMES HARRIET FOR SS12

Mulberry are introducing what is to be the new fashion darling for SS12. The Mulberry Harriet is destined to be the “it” bag of the season, the pared-down uptown look makes it perfectly suited to this season’s focus of elegant hardware, tactile shapes and multi-wear style options. My favourite has to be the leopard print haircalf satchel with pink gold hardware.

The briefcase-inspired clasp closure debuted on the much-loved Neely for A/W10, and Harriet’s softly structured shape and glossy finish are both tributes to Neely’s design signature. I do like the idea of a small bag but it just does not work in my life so the Harriet clutch is out of the question but I do like the chain detail.

The Harriet Clutch would be a perfect day to night crossover bag, a roomy, oversized style that folds over and secures with the family’s signature clasp.

Fans of the Harriet collection include Blake Lively, Elizabeth Olsen, Harley Viera Newton, Hayley Atwell, Kate Bosworth, Olivia Palermo and Kelis.

Mulberry are also introducing new shades for SS12 – Summer Khaki, Pebbled Beige, Nightshade Blue and a Candy Pink and Marshmallow White contrast mix, all references to the seaside colour palette threading through the Spring Summer 2012 collection.

You can shop the Harriet collection online from 1 January 2012 at www.mulberry.com
