012 in 2010 – Benetton Re-Opening

I remember (she says, sounding like an old lady) when I was a lil girl, my mom would dress me head to toe in H&M, nanny’s boutique finds, or Benetton 012.

Benetton was the lick “back in the day”, even Barbie was rocking it. Before all the controversial ads there  was the fashion.

Twenty odd years later they’re making a come back with their new flagship store in Oxford Circus. The Glam Squad went in to see what Benetton was bringing for AW10.

Members of the public were given a chance to come in, don the new collection, get made over, and snapped in their own Benetton ad. It’s all part of a new plan to make Benetton young and cool again.

Whoever purchased on the night was given a goody bag

Wrangler for Everyone

We got the heads up from Joel of The Dash Empire that there was a Wrangler party at Mahiki. So we hot footed it down there for a freebie or two…

Char went for these acid wash jeans in the middle, they had lovely woven denim detail in the pocket. Didn’t get a pic coz we were both trying stuff on.

Thom went for this tough denim jacket (tough meaning good, like bad or heavy) the detailing really makes it werq!

So for me, the jeans were too short, I have a denim jacket and denim shirt, so I went for these grey/lilac “greylac” shorts.

Z was well pleased with her faded red jeans.

In hindsight I should have got another denim shirt, I’m not sure when I’m ever going to wear “greylac” shorts with white stitching.

And The Winner Is…

Tuesday 17th Aug 7pm was the time, Boutique by Jaeger pop-up shop on Foubert’s Place was the place that we would find out who would be the proud winner of the Boutique by Jaeger style challenge in association with Glam.

Thom Ticklemouse and I strolled up fully juiced up from the Topshop Make Up event before, just in time to hear who had won the competition. And the winner is…

First place for the facebook comp went to Style Noir, the look was styled by Rosie Foster

The event on a whole was great, as well as some healthy competition, we were given a chance to be in the same room as some of the best bloggers the UK has to offer. The refreshments weren’t half bad either…

Boutique by Jaeger Style Challenge

Jaeger Boutique

Yesterday I went to Jaeger HQ on Regent St to view the new Jaeger Boutique collection and see what I could do with it.

I left home in the pouring rain on Tuesday to make my way down to Jaeger, I made it just after 4pm, after ploughing through the soaked sods at Oxford Circus. The lady in the lift asked if I was upset that me Balenciaga got wet, to which I replied “no, it’s been wet many a time before, it’ll dry”.

On arrival I was greeted by the wonderful Amy, who told me what would be happening. I had to pick various items of the Boutique collection to make up an outfit that would be chosen by Stuart Stockdale, Jaeger’s Design Director and the facebook fans (which is where you guys come in)

I decided to pull a range of looks and document them for Freak Deluxe, then choose which look I wanted to be entered.

After leaving Jaeger HQ we took a trip down to the new pop up boutique on Foubert’s Place (off Carnaby St)

The store is wonderfully decorated with Julie Verhoeven illustrations on wallpaper, wall features and the changing room curtains.
