International footwear brand ALDO launched their new ‘Get Lucky’ AW11 campaign in true casino style at One Marylebone, London earlier this week.
ALDO threw one of the hottest parties this year hosted by Lily Donaldson to unveil an array of new collections, inviting industry insiders and celebrity fans of the brand. The fashion forward Holiday collection is HAUTE!
There were at least 7 pairs I wanted to take home there and then, from glitter covered slipper-esque flats to purple suede platforms with glitter covered sole/heel and lipstick red suede courts with angled heel to black suede sandals with black rhinestones covering the sole and heel. Not forgetting the new premium menswear range Mr B’s, and brand new capsule collection by New York designer Christian Cota for AW11.
The Christian Cota collection is part of ALDO’s most exciting project yet – ALDO Rise. This initiative sees ALDO collaborating with rising talent in the UK and US with their British members announced as Mark Fast, JW Anderson and Preen. The UK designers were at the event clearly enjoying being part of the ALDO family and the opportunity that such a brand has offered them.
Special guest supermodel Lily Donaldson and ALDO Creative Director Douglas Bensadoun kicked off the night with a quick presentation on all the ALDO news. ALDO also announced their new UK based Design Studio and a new home in London’s Oxford Street.
Celebrity attendees included: US singer Alexis Jordan, Jameela Jamil, Robyn Bright, Laura Jackson, Caroline Flack, Henry Holland, Louise Roe, Laura Whitmore, stylist Grace Woodward, Jade Parfitt, Jasmine Guniness and upcoming talent Sunday Girl who also treated guests to an hours DJ set.
We drank Vodka Sours and Champagne and were mesmerised by the new campaign images shot by internationally famed photographer Terry Richardson. Once again the campaign features the beautiful Lily Donaldson, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
In keeping with the “Get Lucky” theme there was entertainment from Pete the Magician and a raffle where guests shoes from the Rise collection and an all expense trip to Soho House’s Babington House spa in the Cotswolds amongst other things.
