The past few weeks have been so cold here in the UK, it’s difficult not to want to stay in bed all day! When I do have to brave the cold, my outfits consist of the same fashion staples pretty much day in, day out. You know what “they” say “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” (I don’t know why, but I say and hear that in a broad New York accent).
Anyway, my top 3 Autumn/Winter fashion staples are:
A good sweater
A decent pair of jeans
A comfortable pair of ankle boots
Let’s face it, ankle boots are pretty much fashion staples for at least 10 months out of the year over here; and sweaters, hmm, maybe 6. Jeans? Jeans are always a staple!
For an everyday look I chose my pink cashmere sweater and my favourite blue jeans (a great wash, the perfect length, and super comfortable!). I think the brown ankle boots complement the blush pink of the sweater.
For my all black look I teamed my boxy mohair sweater with my ripped black skinny jeans, and added a bit more edge with my Givenchy studded boots.
For a more classic look I teamed a simple ribbed polo neck sweater with a pair of simple blue jeans, and a pair of classic black ankle boots.
If I want to go for a statement piece, I try to keep everything else quite simple. For this look I went for my snake print ankle boots, so I kept the sweater and jeans minimal, and let the boots do the talking.

Not all looks using these 3 fashion staples have to be cozy, you can do a little sassy look using them. For sass, I opted for an off the shoulder sweater, cropped flare jeans, and a pair of block heeled ankle boots.
