This Spring 2014, Nike celebrates the power of its innovation with the release of three new versions of the Air Max 90— the Nike Air Max Lunar 90, Air Max 90 Jacquard and Air Max 90 Ice.
One of the more popular silhouettes in the Air Max family, the Air Max 90ĘĽs iconic midsole and upper components are the perfect canvas to lionize NikeĘĽs pinnacle technologies: Lunarlon foam, no-sew construction, jacquard weaving and Phylon.
AIR MAX LUNAR90
The Air Max Lunar90 combines two of NikeĘĽs most popular cushioning systems, Lunarlon and Max Air, to offer lightweight comfort and responsive energy return. The upper receives a no-sew treatment increasing both the shoes flexibility and breathability. As a final touch, a compression-molded collar gives a nod to supreme comfort. The Air Max Lunar90 is Air Max felt like never before.
AIR MAX 90 JACQUARD
A traditional and age-old method of craft veneerĘĽs this version of the Air Max 90. Originating in the 1800s, the jacquard weaving process weaves four colored yarns through a black base allowing Nike designers to control which colors are expressed on the surface. The jacquard process is very detailed and capable of weaving patterns on top of patterns, allowing for the traditional panels and overlays of the Air Max 90 to be replaced by a single piece of fabric. The one-piece upper is lighter and more flexible than the original and pairs perfectly with a natural motion outsole for a visible emphasis on movement. The Air Max 90 Jacquard is Air Max crafted like never before.
AIR MAX 90 ICE
Harking back to the original mantra of Air Max, the Air Max 90 Ice pushes “making the invisible visible” to the maximum. Taking inspiration from the Ice edition of the Nike+ Fuelband, this version of the Air Max 90 utilizes a translucent outsole to show off the most unsung of cushioning heroes; Phylon. Translucence also appears on the upper in the form of see-through Hyperfuse construction, which allows the computer generated geometric graphic to appear without distraction. The Air Max 90 Ice is Air Max seen like never before.
The Nike Air Max Lunar90 and Jacquard are available now on www.nike.com. The Nike Air Max 90 Ice will be available later this month.
How soon should we start using anti ageing creams 50+? 40+? 30+? Or younger? When I first heard of anti ageing/wrinkle creams, they were for the more mature woman. Now they’re marketed to women in their 30s, I used to bulk at this in my 20s, “I’m not using those creams til I’m way older, no need, black don’t crack!” And it’s true black doesn’t crack, but now I’m just out of my 20s a little help is always welcomed; and why not, prevention is better than cure isn’t it?
I was recently introduced to the Botanics skincare range, all truly natural, developed in collaboration with The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, (so you can imagine the beautiful scents involved) the range combines passion, expertise and nature in, luxurious, affordable skincare solutions, leaving beautiful and more radiant looking skin. Exploring the best of the world’s flora, Boots UK and Kew have identified some of the most powerful plant extracts and have preserved their natural essence to develop skin care solutions that really work.
The latest addition to the Botanics skincare range is the Triple Age Renewal range, which includes a key super serum, scientifically proven to improve skin firmness in 4 weeks. Also part of the range is a Day cream (protects skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays whilst helping to prevent pigmentation), Night cream, and an Eye Serum (includes Eyeliss™, perfect for reducing those puffy bags under the eyes first thing in the morning, by improving drainage, reducing capillary fragility, irritation and skin slackening and Haloxyl™ which tackles dark circles under the eyes) which have been formulated specifically to target 3 key signs of ageing for women +35 years and include some of the most effective ingredients Mother Nature has to offer.
Purple Orchid extract – is the lead extract used in the range, which helps to maintain a youthful appearance. The natural extract from Purple Orchid flowers, rich in Saccharides (moisturising sugars), and Polyphenols (antioxidants) help smooth and protect the skin surface. Each formulation in the range can help to reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles in just 4 weeks.
All of the products from the range also contain the beauty boosting ingredients, with the Super Serum offering the highest level of anti ageing actives such as:
·        Active plant extract Purple Orchid – helps smooth unwanted fine lines
·        Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid – helps reduce appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin
·        Vitamin A, E and C – to help maintain a youthful appearance and prevent pigmentation

The Botanics Triple Age Renewal Range is available in Boots stores nationwide and boots.com now.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of Blue Monday before, apparently it dates back to 2005 when UK psychologist Cliff Arnall created a formula to calculate the most miserable day of the year. Lack of sunshine, holiday debt, failed New Year’s resolutions and minimal motivational levels result in being depressed and less active. *Shrugs* Perhaps this might be true for most of us.
Well Fitness First is launching Red Monday in a bid to turn this negative day into a positive one. On Monday 20th January 2014 Fitness First will host complimentary classes for members and non members to boost the nation’s mood on the UK’s most depressing day of the year. Bringing positivity to the day by turning things red – the colour of motivation, passion and energy.
The UK’s best loved Olympian and fitness enthusiast, Victoria Pendleton, will be visiting the Tottenham Court Road club to meet and encourage gym goers. Victoria will be on hand to impart advice on all things fitness – from Spin to sit-ups, treadmill to training as well as diet and well being.
Victoria says “Fitness First are leaders in expert fitness and something accessible for everyone like Red Monday is such a positive initiative. Fitness makes you feel more positive and happy about yourself so I am proud to support Red Monday. I really want to help get the nation fit and active so it’s great that Fitness First are opening their doors for a day for anyone to join in for free.  My tip for exercise is to change what you are doing often, think of the benefits to your mind and body, and have loads of fun doing it!’
We’ll be there, will you?
Say hello to my new Cyrena Monique XL coat…charcoal wool with muted pinstripes, and grey leopard print lining. Obsessed much?! I designed it to be oooooh-versized, it fits my honey perfectly, like it was tailored for him – apart from the sleeves need to be longer for him (he wears an XL). It’s all me from start to finish – designed it, made the pattern, cut it, sewed it, and now I’m wearing it!
Oh yeah, I’m also wearing my leather arm warmers (you may have seen them on my Instagram) they are the perfect accessory for these chilly days. I like to rock them with a leather jacket too, extends the look a little further. Thoughts?
