FACE OF: LANA DEL REY FOR H&M

Lana Del Rey is the new face of H&M’s Fall 2012 campaign, shot by the elusive Inez & Vinoodh. The campaign features the singer in 60s hair and make up wearing a multitude of pastel shades, monochrome tones, and autumnal splatters. Look out for this in October after an H&M-styled music video of the singer premieres in September by Johan Renck, in which she sings the pop standard “Blue Velvet”. Erm I’ll take both sweaters, the paint splattered trousers, the monochrome jacket and dress, and possibly the peach trousers too!

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA FOR H&M!

I’m sure I must have said this before but…this is one H&M collaboration I am truly looking forward to!!! I love Maison Martin Margiela, but unfortunately don’t have the great fortune to have any of it in my closet – this is my chance. However I will not be doing the whole queuing up around the block business, I never have; I refuse to! But I will get at least 3 pieces, it is my mission!

“We are very happy to present MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.” MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA

I guess the Swedish high street retailer wanted in on some democratic fashion, or is it just that Jay & Ye raved about them enough to give them some commercial buzz. I want some affordable Helmut Lang next! Jay, Ye, and H&M take note please!

MMM for H&M will be available in stores and online from November 15th.

ANNA DELLO RUSSO X H&M ACCESSORIES COLLECTION

Fashion icon and Fashion Director of Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo aka “The Guardian of Fashion” has designed an accessories collection for Swedish high st retailer H&M; which I am as excited as **** about! The collection is FULL of gaudy gold with hints of turquoise, and features snake bangles and necklets, box clutches, embellished sunglasses, shoes, and a trolley. AdR took inspiration from her home for this collection which you can see in the video below.

Anna says “I am excited by this collaboration; this is the first time H&M involves a Fashion Director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist I know accessorization is essential, it is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day”.

After all that excitement, the collection won’t be available to our prying hands for another 5 months. See it, touch it, feel it, buy it from October 4th in stores and online.
