SHOPPING MADE EASIER WITH THE FARFETCH BOUTIQUE FINDER

farfetch-boutique-finder

Are you one of those people that sees everything when you’re just “window shopping” (broke), but when you have some serious coin to spend or you actually need something (for an occasion or a new coat for Autumn) you can’t find a thing?  Used to happen all the time, if you love in shopping for fashion as much as we do, you’ll love the Farfetch Boutique Finder.

As much as online stores try to make online shopping easy with their built in filters and cool seasonal edits, online shopping can quickly turn into somewhat of a mundane task.

This Boutique Finder makes online shopping effortless because the nifty gadget is able to deliver personalised shopping results for men and women, directing you to the best boutiques that stock all of your most favoured styles and brands.

The widget is pretty self explanatory; start by picking your gender (male/female); then the look which best describes you (or the you, you want to be that day); choose the item you want to shop for; then your top designer (from the list provided); et voila, the recommended boutiques pop up!

Our favourite thing about it, the illustrations, they’re fresh, modern and directional (it’s the little things that get us).  We’ve been playing with it for a few days now and love the things it’s throwing our way!

LACOSTE END OF SUMMER PEOPLE AND THE POLO PARTY

lacoste crocodile

Last Thursday we attended the Lacoste End of Summer People and the Polo Party over in East London, to celebrate the heritage of the polo and the ‘Joie de Vivre’ spirit of the brand!

AW14 sees Lacoste collaborate with lifestyle blog Yin & Yang to capture twelve select influencers wearing the polo their way; a genuine and authentic style in a locations personal to them.  The select twelve represent ‘the People’… Those characters who influence through a personal sense of style that transcends fashion.  People who inspire through their art and their daily judgement as we venture across different industries and genres.

Mixing those who influence behind the scenes – the early adopters, whose vision is seen by many and enlighten the masses with their originality.  Stronger than their differences is their aspirational creativity – a thread that weaves them together as tightly as LACOSTE’S iconic polo!

People in attendance: Ella Eyre, Shadez the Misfit, Sasha Keable, Little Simz, Hayden Williams, Giggs, Hatty Keane, Chloe Howl, and more.

We drank Rum & Ginger Beers and enjoyed the revolutionised flavours of French food with catering by Le Bun.  Fries and Truffled Garlic Mayo accompanied Le Bourguignon Bun, Le Duck Frites Bun and Le Chèvre Bun sliders.

Guests listened to music by DJ’s: Ralph Hardy and Jamz Supernova and a live performance by musician Little Simz .

SCOTTISH FASHION AWARDS TO INDUCT DAME VIVIENNE WESTWOOD TO THE HALL OF FAME AS THE FASHION SEASON KICKS OFF IN GRAND STYLE

vivienne-westwood-hall-of-fame

Organisers of the Scottish Fashion Awards have announced today that Dame Vivienne Westwood will be inducted into the prestigious ‘Hall of Fame’ at the 9th annual awards ceremony, which takes place this evening at 8 Northumberland in London.

The glittering gala and Scottish banquet will kick off the international fashion season and will be co-hosted by The Secretary of State for Scotland Alistair Carmichael MP alongside awards founder Dr Tessa Hartmann and presented by TV personality Laura Whitmore.

Over the last 9 years the awards have inducted a host of high profile names into the Hall of Fame who have made a significant contribution to Scottish fashion and industry including Stella Tennant, Rankin, Albert Watson, Colin McDowell MBE and Sam McKnight.

Dr Tessa Hartmann said: “Dame Vivienne has had an undeterred loyalty and unparalleled love and passion for Scottish textiles and fabrics, which she has consistently used within her collections throughout the years. She personifies the powerful and subversive originality for British fashion and has done more for Scottish textiles than probably any other designer in this generation. Her brand name is synonymous with the tartan pattern and her fascination for this iconic fabric is unrelenting.”

“By using a mix of different tartans, her ensembles explore the rich depth of colour and diversity of the traditional checked pattern that is adorned around the world. She even created her own clan and tartan named MacAndreas, named after her husband and design partner, Andreas Kronthaler,” continued Hartmann.

But it wasn’t just tartan, her love affair of all Scottish fabrics can be seen through the decades with her use of Harris Tweed and knitwear that she incorporated into her collections.

Running a global empire that comprises her Gold, Red and Man label, and Anglomania lines, knitwear and accessories, complemented by her significant impact her tireless campaigning for human rights and environmental issues – namely ‘Climate Revolution’, position her as one of the most powerful designers of our time and the perfect honouree for the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame 2014.

The Secretary of State for Scotland Alistair Carmichael MP said; “The Scottish fashion industry will be forever indebted to Dame Westwood, who has established a lasting legacy for Scottish textiles, yarns and fabrics.”

The glittering black tie gala this evening is set to be attended by a host of celebrities and fashion stars including Christopher Kane, Holly Fulton, Tali Lennox, Pam Hogg, Twin Atlantic, Tallia Storm, Pixie Lott, Jean Campbell, Jenni Falconer, Sam McKnight, Amy MacDonald, David Gandy, Oliver Cheshire, industry heavy weights and fashion editors.
